Epidemics
Everything I do (or fail to do) casts a vote for what exists in the world…
Every occupation, possession, pastime, and dollar spent…
Every relationship, membership, and allegiance…
Every promise kept and broken, every encouraging and discouraging word…
Every acceptance and rejection…
Every sincerity and pretense…
Every act of generosity and greed, compassion and apathy, courage and cowardice, hope and despair…
Every resentment, every mistake never owned, every olive branch rejected, every cry for help ignored, every generous impulse never acted upon…
Every act of generosity or greed, sincerity or pretense, compassion or indifference, courage or cowardice, hope or despair, contrition or remorselessness, resentment or forgiveness.
In other words, everything I do (or not) is contagious… with the potential to spread farther and wider than I can ever know.
So, what do I want people to catch from me?
