A Meditation on Life: Finding Myself

Imagine, if you can, the utterly astonishing moment a human being discovers that he has “lived” for decades without knowing that he could be somebody.

Imagine the embarrassment of realizing that he did not know this already.

Imagine the anguished regret over so many dreams unpursued.

On the other hand, imagine the pure joy of his new-found liberation…
… until its buoyancy is confronted by the sobering realization that “the permission” to be somebody is not just a right, but a deep responsibility.

This is when the never-ending burden and privilege of becoming a person really begins.
