A Meditation on Life: Psych 101

The only way to rescue myself from the death grip of ignorance, obedience, and conformity…

… is to realize the profound degree to which my autonomy,

… profoundly constrained by nature and nurture,

… is an illusion.

      • Maybe I just didn’t get it. Quoting, “to realize the profound degree to which my autonomy,
… profoundly constrained by nature and nurture, … is an illusion.
We can, in fact we are designed, to overcome both nature and nurture if we would become full-fledged human beings. A human being exists beyond nature (though participates in it) and must exist as a self-empowered autonomous mind. My earliest challenges were to reject my “nurture” then demonstrate to myself that I could supplant it with greater and better values. I didn’t have to make those up, there are here, waiting for us to choose them, but that’s not on the Earthian agenda. Choosing a “higher” path is where detachment comes in. Without detachment it is impossible to become a free agent, or mind being.
