A Meditation on Life: Ghosts from the Past
No matter how sincere and successful my efforts to make amends for the damage I have done…
… and no matter how heroic my efforts to rise above the damage done to me…
… there will always be some remainder of pain that no amount of time can heal, no amount of contrition can redeem, and no amount of forgiveness can forget.
Such is life.
And it would benefit us all to stop pretending we are all okay when we all know we’re not.
