A Meditation on Faith: The Virtue of Skepticism

Sincere and courageous doubt is more than a right.

Sincere and courageous doubt is a precious and sacred responsibility
… and the only thing that makes sincere belief possible.

In fact, the veracity and profundity of the truths I discover can only be as true and deep as the integrity, honesty, sincerity, depth, humility, audacity, and courage of my quest.

To that end, beware any philosophy, creed, or enterprise that denies anyone the freedom to doubt. And be even more vigilant against embracing any philosophy, creed, or enterprise that bestows upon anyone the “freedom” from doubt.
