A Meditation on Faith: Tragedy

Sometimes life is so hard that there is no “good” answer.

Sometimes life is so hard that there is no “right” answer.

Sometimes life is so cruel that, no matter how deep my anguish and remorse, I do not get a second chance.

Sometimes life is so hard that all we can do is survive the day… and nothing else.

Sometimes life is so cruel that it takes away even our opportunity to love.

Sometimes life is so unforgiving, natural evils so indiscriminate, humans so vicious… that there is no moral to the story.

Some suffering really is beyond the reach of all the love and care in the world.

  1. Too true
Yet somehow we are still there at the other side of the suffering. Some too damaged and mangled to ever grow or hope again – and some saying that in retrospect there are silver linings – new growth- new paths in life

    • Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth. Indeed… Our resilience, perseverance, and capacity to keep loving in the face of so much unfathomable suffering and evil is the pinnacle of our humanity. Thanks and peace.
