A Meditation on Faith: Popularity Unmasked

Popularity is a very serious problem…

… automatically creating the perception of truth, beauty, and goodness, deserved or not.

… thus, capable of transforming the inane and insane into the praiseworthy and virtuous.

… while perpetuating itself via an insidious process that is difficult to extinguish.

In summary, once the pump of popularity is primed… whether by fiat, propaganda, or expert salesmanship… the illusion of truth makes the deceit quite popular… and that popularity gives the deceit the illusion of truth… which makes the deceit quite popular… which gives the deceit the illusion of truth… and so on and so on… thus sustaining all manner of lies, layer upon layer, in so many vicious cycles that are difficult to even recognize… much less to escape.
