The Golden Rule, Part 7
What will it take for us to see that each one of us is a wounded child?
What will it take for us to admit that each one of us is both angel and devil?
What will it take for us to see that we are all in the same boat?
In a phrase… we are all damaged, confused, anxious, scared, and alone… alone together.
What more do we need to unite us in mutual compassion, shared purpose, and sincere affection?
What more do we need to unify and rally us all against our real enemies: ignorance, bigotry, poverty, fear, violence, disease… to name but a few.
We can begin by dropping all pretense. Perhaps, then, we can laugh together at our common foibles… and cry together about our shared sufferings.

A uniquely burdened and blessed citizen of the world thinking and acting out loud!
Honesty and compassion. Whatever happened to such notions? They are rare these days and that is sad.
Nice post.

Indeed, Ben. Alas, we still have a long way to go. Peace.
