A Meditation on Faith: Imagine

Someday, when we are mature enough, wise enough, and brave enough…

… to value the challenge of loving each other above the effortless “salvation” of claiming the truth…

… LOVE will become what it should be… a universal ethic that has no name… a responsible freedom practiced for its own sake… without sanction, without fanfare, without belief in the unbelievable, without the promise of reward or threat of punishment… as natural as the water we drink and air we breathe… so routine that we need not talk about it anymore… so commonplace that we need not lament its scarcity… so ordinary that it will feel odd to consider it virtuous and praiseworthy.

Someday.
