The Divine Plan
Beware any “authority”, creed, or enterprise that sweeps inexplicable suffering under the rug called “God’s will”.
This seems to me, at best, a misguided expression of powerlessness and despair…
But I suspect it’s also a convenient way to rationalize indifference to a world rife with injustice and natural evil.
What rational and decent person can possibly accept that disease, disaster, and other forms of violence that plague us only seem reprehensible?
What rational and decent person can possibly accept that such suffering is part of some greater goodness beyond our limited intellectual and moral comprehension?
I, for one, in good conscience, cannot make such a perverse leap of “faith”.

A uniquely burdened and blessed citizen of the world thinking and acting out loud!
Ah, yes. The Problem of Evil. I taught that class at church. (no laughing) The question I recall being asked was, “How do you reconcile what you claim to believe with what you just said?” Domino!

Yep. The countless natural evils that plague us all is sufficient cause for me to reject any notion of a loving creator… no fancy arguments required. If God does exist, he is capricious monster like Q from Star Trek.

More Q to come.

Sadly, nauseatingly, and infuriatingly true.
