Mother Nature
If, by some miracle, world peace erupted and man-made cruelty vanished forever…
life would still be hard.
Our frail bodies would still be at the mercy of genetic mutations, microbes, venoms, parasites, predators, radiation, the weather, and tectonic upheavals… to name but a few.
Is this not reason enough to unite us in common cause against our real enemy?
(Namely, the countless horrors of “God’s perfect creation”)

A uniquely burdened and blessed citizen of the world thinking and acting out loud!
Good one… very true. This built in need of most to believe in a fantasy god or gods to abrogate responsibility will be our undoing.
If only this leftover gene or DNA or whatever could be phased out through evolution, we could get on with a more peaceful harmonious life and protect the planet as well. The misery man has caused to each other and all the natural world, mostly brought about by religion, is just beyond words.

Indeed, Mary. Abdication of responsibility is among one of the primary wishes of the true believer… whether religious or political… and the the charlatans… the preachers and politicians… are happy to sell them that wish…. to the detriment of all of us.
