In Search of My Soul

soul

All the evidence and all my experience scream loud and clear:

Consciousness is nothing more and nothing less than the experience of what my eyes, ears, muscles, bones, heart, stomach, brain, and other organs are doing at the time.

That said, it’s quite phenomenal—dare we call it miraculous—that star stuff—Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, and more—when clumped together “just right”, has the power to produce pleasure and pain, laughter and tears, dreams and regrets, hunger, thirst, lust, jealousy, nausea, fear, gratitude, hope, boredom, heartbreak, grief, empathy, and affection, to name but a few.

And nobody has a clue how.

That’s all we know for sure, and perhaps all we can ever know.

  1. A clever, adolescent extra terrestrial whipped up a concoction to create a universe and set life in motion. That’s right, all we are is a science experiment. Hopefully when he checks back in on his project, he isn’t disappointed and exterminates the whole thing. If our world is representative of the rest, I’d burn the whole thing to the ground.

    1. No lies detected. All that you say certainly fits the data. Thanks and peace, brother.
