I Have a Dream

Please join me in celebrating the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr. (and countless other unsung heroes) by watching Doctor King’s speech made on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC (August 28, 1963).

May his (and their) commitment to brotherhood and reconciliation fill us all with conviction and courage in the face of so many temptations to do otherwise.

Reading of Consequence: Tolstoy, The Kingdom of God is Within You

The Kingdom of God is Within You is one of the most challenging pieces of conviction and courage that you will ever read. It is essential reading for anyone who considers himself a Christian… and also for anyone who doesn’t.

Notably, Tolstoy’s book was instrumental in inspiring the ethic of non-violent resistance practiced by both Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

In Gandhi’s words: “Tolstoy’s The Kingdom of God is Within You overwhelmed me. Before the independent thinking, profound morality and truthfulness of this book, all the books given me seemed to pale into insignificance.”
