I have no political affiliations…
I hold no positions of coercive authority.
I am political, but I am NOT partisan.
I am neither Democrat nor Republican, neither Left nor Right.
I toe no party line.
But I am no moderate. I’m not a centrist. I’m not some wishy-washy relativist.
I do not stand between the Left and the Right. I stand above the Left and the Right.
I do not stand between the conservative and the liberal. I stand above the conservative and the liberal.
I do not stand between the capitalist and the socialist. I stand above the capitalist and the socialist.
Given what six decades of direct experience has taught me about my own nature, the nature of others, and how the world turns… I cannot respect myself any other way.

I have no problem with ‘above’. Good choice of words.
Thanks a bunch for sharing your perspective, brother. The more I think about it, the more “above” speaks to me as well. Perhaps both words are necessary to fully capture the point. Cheers! 🤜🤛
👍🏻
Perspective is what we need. Above is another way to look at things.
We (all nations) seriously need to reinvent a lot of stuff.
I enjoy being politically homeless, remaining on “team skeptic.” I cheer for my hometown baseball team, not team red or team blue. I call balls and strikes and try to do so without arrogance while acknowledging that my human failings are no better or worse than the next guys. I try not to judge, because one’s politics are often not arbitrary, they’re based one’s life experiences, and we all have walked a different road.
I like your choice of words “politically homeless”… and wholeheartedly resonate with everything you said. I might add that although I don’t judge, I do have clear boundaries that refuse to tolerate intolerance and abuses of power. Thanks and Peace.
Agreed. I don’t vote and so not consider myself political either. I stand for a total re-write of the rules of society in favour of equality and freedom and the abolition of hierarchy
Anthony, my man. Thanks for chiming in, but please read what I wrote…
I AM political, but I am not PARTISAN. I invest much of my limited time, treasure, and talent almost every day to expand my personal power and to use much of that power to influence the world I (we) live in, both locally and globally. THAT, to me, is what authentic politics is all about. I put my energy behind causes, not candidates. I vote. I financially support worthy causes. I donate things. I conserve. I speak up against bigotry. I write letters to legislators. I belong to communities of practice who are doing important work. I do community service. I volunteer for lots of community events. I teach. I protest. I challenge illegitimate authority. I write, like I am doing right now. I put my real face and real name out there despite occasional attacks from trolls and critics who have no skin the game.
Neither do I want to abolish hierarchy. I want to eliminate the desire and need for hierarchy. Alas, we still have lots more work to do. I have a hundred more post coming on that very topic.
” I want to eliminate the desire and need for hierarchy. ” Well yes, so do I. And I applaud all that you are doing. Were I to be able to find a suitable independent candidate to vote for I would do so. If the desire and need for hierarchy could be eliminated, then we would find ourselves in a flat society – which is what I advocate. You will of course bee aware of Lord Acton’s famous quote: Power and Authority
“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority.” I desire a society which has rules but no rulers. I do not believe that aim to be impossible.
Anthony, I’m afraid we’re genetically hardwired for hierarchy. For example, if you lock twenty people in a room, they will organize themselves into a hierarchy of leaders, innovators, and workers, etc. The trick is keeping the hierarchy mobile to prevent it from ossifying. In an ossified hierarchy, the fastest growing sector of the population are the dispossessed, and that was not the intention of the West, so there is much tweaking to be done.
I wonder? We are hardwired to breathe oxygen and to live an earthbound existence. And yet we built submersibles and wings of steel!
To me, Frank, above suggests superior, but I am not clear on what you mean. Care to say more?
Thanks a bunch for asking, Gerald. As you know, I have a deep reverence for words and try to choose them with great care. Your question prompted me to rethink my choice of word “above” per your comment. I take your point and think that “outside” more accurately captures my intent. Anyway, thanks for your meaningful engagement here… “as iron sharpens iron”. Whatever the choice of word, I know it’s a bit cryptic and that is quite intentional, for the moment. Anyway, thanks again and stay tuned for more.
