Call me an ATHEIST if you will, but do know this…
Doing so tells you almost nothing about who I am and what I stand for.
So allow me to introduce myself…
I, Frank J. Peter have a deep reverence for freedom and responsibility… honesty, love, and logic… integrity, humility, gratitude, and generosity… thrift and fair play… spontaneity, beauty, and creativity… and empathy, compassion, and courage–each and every one of the above quite capable of standing on its own merits… without belief in the unbelievable… and without sanction from any “authority”, earthly or divine.

If only there were more people like you, Frank! Personally, I consider you to be quite a “spiritual” person, because of the way you live and take responsibility for your own life! That does so much more good for the world and all life on the planet, than strictly “religious” focuses have ever done! At the end of the day, how we live is much more powerful than what we “believe”! I had a brother (who passed away several years ago) who some would have called “an atheist”, and yet he had such a love of life, a longing to learn about everything, and a heart of gold! Title don’t mean anything – actions do! I love your “Finding My Region” postings, as each one is filled with such wisdom, my friend!
Thanks a million for the most kind words of appreciation and for cheering me on, Anita. It means more that I can express in mere words. And thank you for celebrating the life force of your late brother here. Hear hear! to his living example. And a hearty seconding of your lovely addition that ACTIONS are what counts. Another warm hug, my friend.
PS. I have a crazy idea. I am blessed with a small circle of generous wordpress friends, like you, who’ve had a significant impact on my wellbeing that past few years. I was thinking of doing some traveling with the primary mission of visiting any one of them who’s hip to the idea (including you) sometime this summer. What are you up to this summer? And whaddaythink? For Real.
Thank you, Frank, for your very kind words regarding my brother, Bruce! That means a great deal to me! You and he are an awful lot alike in many ways, and I often think of him when I read your posts! I think he would have loved meeting you and connecting with someone of like-mind! I also think it is a wonderful idea that you are thinking of traveling this summer to meet friends from WordPress, and I would certainly love to meet you if you travel to New England! Thank you for asking me! Hugs, my friend!
Thanks for sharing all that, Anita. And music to my ears your saying yes to my crazy idea. I’m just thinking about meeting for coffee, tea, lunch, or something simple along the way. It’ll take me some weeks to wring out my schedule and coordinate with some other folks, but I’m quite serious about doing so. Stay tuned. Warm hug!
Sounds like a plan, Frank! Warm hugs!
