This series of posts includes some scathing criticisms of many institutions, traditions, customs, and beliefs held dear by tens of millions of Americans…
Scathing. I promise.
Committed to the idea that responsible freedom is the only moral and sustainable basis for human flourishing, this series of writings are a full-frontal assault on all that stands in the way of that goal.
At once an indictment of the powers that be who profit from the status quo as well as a call-to-arms issued to the masses held hostage by their own ignorance, obedience, conformity, tribalism, and fear… they are bound to irritate conservatives, liberals, and moderates alike.
At least I hope so.
I would take such as a badge of honor… and a reliable indicator of truth. Because the truth is almost never found by choosing sides. And because our problems will not be solved, because they cannot be solved, by picking the “right” religion, “right” economic system, or “right” political ideology.
It will become clear from these writings that nothing would please me more than to put all the politicians, preachers, bureaucrats, and billionaires permanently out of business. Because we the people do not need them anymore.
We no longer need them to speak for us.
We no longer need them to organize us.
We no longer need their approval.
We no longer need them to tell us right from wrong.
And we no longer need them as scapegoats to blame for our own shortcomings.
And all it takes is for those of us who know better to do better.
And that us includes me.
All we commoners need is a wee bit of confidence and courage. Because we really do have a lot more power to challenge the gatekeepers than we ever imagined.

Anarchy without the violence. A society free of pyramids of authority and wealth. And wars. Hear hear
Anthony, my man. Please don’t put words in my mouth…
I am not advocating for anarchy in the least. I fully support good government and governance: legitimate, accountable, transparent, representative, responsive, effective, efficient… to name but a few attributes sadly missing in the US and UK.
I like having laws, the police, fire departments, air traffic control, stop signs, roads, bridges, electricity, clean water, public education, social safety nets… to name but a few.
Human natures is such that anarchy is untenable. It would quickly lead to even more lawlessness, exploitation of the vulnerable, destruction of the natural resources, pollution of the water, air, and soil… to name but a few… than we have now with government.
